Yesterday, I went for my 3 month follow-up after surgery. My cardiologist Dr Westcott wiped the last prescription off my shelf. One baby aspirin a day is all I have to take from now on!
My recovery is going well. I don’t always wear my pedometer. My steps/day is regularly over 1,000. I hit the 10,000 threshold on Yoga Walks with Greg in Fort Ward, walking forwards and backwards on the hills.
A particularly helpful yoga pose that became central to my recovery we called the Shoulder health Opener. One month after my surgery, I was doing this pose, putting my healing sternum under gentle tension. Alignment and correct posture are essential for the benefit of the practice.
